This book is a miracle. Following four friends throughout their entire lives, with a deep generosity and kindness, with fire and brutality. I have never felt this connected to characters in a novel, fascinated by their fierce loyalty and their disastrous humanity. I wanted to know them, I do know them. It tore me apart, this book, and I let it. It was 700 pages and I read it twice anyway. I wanted it to be longer. It doesn't surprise me that it has been nominated for nearly every single literary prize in 2015. It is a masterpiece. [Kenny!]
