White People's Work for Anti-Racism

02/22/2020 - 11:00am

This all-ages book club is for white folks to work at undoing white supremacy and the dismantling of racism. We encourage everyone to work in multiracial groups outside of this book club - which is what it takes to make progress - but also acknowledge that it's neccessary for white folks to discuss issues separately so as not to place undue burden on people of color or add trauma as we unpack our assumptions, undo our social conditioning, and work on blindspots. We meet the fourth Saturday of every month. For previous reads, click here. For questions, email the book club.

This month, we'll discuss Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?: And Other Conversations About Race by Beverly Daniel Tatum, available at King's or below. For the audiobook, click here. We will create a supportive space as we dive deep into our personal work fighting white supremacy and racism.
