White People's Work for Anti-Racism

04/13/2022 - 6:30pm

This all-ages book club is for white folks to *work* at divesting from and dismantling white supremacy. We encourage everyone to work in multiracial groups outside of this book club - which is what it takes to make progress - but also acknowledge that it's neccessary for white folks to discuss issues separately so as not to place undue burden on people of color or add trauma as we unpack our assumptions, undo our social conditioning, and work on blindspots. To be notified of meetings, please fill out this form. Email the book club with any questions. Follow us on Instagram. We meet the second Wednesday, every other month.

This month we'll discuss Four Hundred Souls: A Community History of African America, 1619-2019, edited by Ibram X Kendi and Keisha N Blain, available at King's or below. For the audiobook, click here. We will create a supportive space as we dive deep into our personal work fighting white supremacy and racism. To see previous reads, click here.
