365 Revolutions: A Book Reading and Writing Workshop with Lucas Smiraldo

05/11/2019 - 5:00pm

Join Lucas Smiraldo for this free event, a reading from his work in progress, 365 Revolutions. This four year project joins metaphors implicit in 52 yoga poses with persona poems embodied with social conscience and messages of resistance and liberation. This will not be a typical reading, but invites discussion with an “embodied“ storytelling and writing mini workshop in which everyone is welcome to write in their own voice, inspired by Standing Mountain Pose. Lucas will supply light refreshments and his short book with photographs, 365 Revolutions: Lunar Cycle, will be on sale as a fundraiser to support the eventual publishing of the full book in 2020. Reserve your free spot here.

Lucas Smiraldo is a poet, spoken word presenter, and collaborative artist who invites cross disciplinary creations driven by conscience poetry. He is a past Poet Laureate of Tacoma and is currently working with Marcella Soto on the design of the full manuscript, 365 Revolutions.
