Join authors Chandler O'Leary and Jessica Spring as we celebrate Dead Feminists winning a PNBA Book Award! The event's proximity to Valentine’s Day is no mistake. Share some love, cookies, and keepsakes with the authors. Plus, share your favorite dead feminist! Choose an important woman in your life—a relative or an historic heroine—and create your own Gal-entine to tell us more about her. Check the Dead Feminists blog for inspiration. There will be space to create your Gal-entine at the event, but bring your own craft supplies! We’ll create a display of these Gal-entines at King’s, which will stay up through International Women’s Day (March 8), and share these lovely ladies and their stories through social media for folks too far away to attend. Printer Mary Bruno will join the festivities, and show some of her work, too.
A new broadside will be unveiled at the party to commemorate the PNBA award. Not quite a Dead Feminist broadside, it will feature hand lettering and hand set type using action words from the book that have helped guide the authors through a very challenging year.
There will also be a chance to purchase a Constituent Valentine (for $1) to sent to your favorite Living Feminist to let them know you appreciate their work. Copies of Dead Feminists will also be available for sale and to-be-signed.
