Cynthia Lair Author Event

02/25/2020 - 1:00pm

Lincoln High School Culinary Arts Program continues our "Food and You" series by welcoming chef and author Cynthia Lair. This afternoon event will focus on topics in Lair's book Feeding the Young Athlete: Sports Nutrition Made Easy for Players, Parents and Coaches. A short description: "Eat to win! Practice is only part of a winning sports strategy. Whole foods have to be part of the playbook to increase energy, endurance, and focus, both on and off the field. What to eat and when to eat, pre-game, during and afterwards? How much fluid do you need to be hydrated? What to eat when you're on the road? These are critical answers to have for young athletes, competing on a demanding schedule and eating on the run and preparing meals that fuel the body." This event is not just for athletes!  Everyone is invited to come to this event. Please RSVP for the event here.

Cynthia Lair is the author of Feeding the Young Athlete, along with Sourdough on the Rise and Feeding the Whole Family. Cynthia will draw from her YA book and her extensive experience as a chef and a professor of culinary arts. She has been on the faculty at Bastyr University since 1994 and is the founder of Bastyr's Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Culinary Arts degree program.
