The Well-Read Black Girl book club is a space for Black and Brown voices to center their stories — to engage, interact, and have intimate conversations with one another. It’s about empowering Black women writers and folks who identify as genderqueer or nonbinary to be a part of our community. Well-Read Black Girl is an online community and in-real-life book club hosted nationwide. Join the national conversation on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and by tagging your book selfies #WellReadBlackGirl.
Our book club is geared towards readers age 14 and up. We'll be reading each month's young adult book selections to include younger voices in our conversation, but the book club is open to all ages. This month, we'll be discussing The Revolution of Birdie Randolph by Brandy Colbert, available at King's Books or below. We meet the third Wednesday of every month. Co-hosted with Write253. For questions, contact Kate.
NOTE that we have a special event on October 14 with author and well-read black girl Nic Stone!
