Join us as we celebrate SWAN Day/ Support Women Artists Now Day, an international holiday designed to showcase the power and diversity of women's creativity. There have been over 900 SWAN Day events in 23 countries in the first five years of this new holiday and, for the first year, we have an event in Tacoma!
The event will feature Poets, Creative Writers, Playwrights, Griots, Spoken Word Artists, and Monologues. If you'd like to participate as a performer, email coordinator Johnnie James by March 27. The event is free and open to all, but it is a benefit for the YWCA of Pierce County's Domestic Violence Program. 100% of all online donations go to the YWCA. 60% of day of donations go the YWCA, 40% goes to the event. The Guest Speaker will be YWCA CEO Miriam Barnett. Join us as we celebrate the creativity of women artists while raising money for a necessary cause!
