10:30 - 10:50 am.  Emilie Rommel Shimkus.

Emilie Rommel Shimkus is a poet, vocalist, and actor (Best Actress - 2010 Weekly Volcano Best of Tacoma).  Recent readings and publications include In Tahoma's Shadow and Mouths & Mics: Poetry in the 253.

John Davis’ poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in the New York Quarterly and The North American Review.  He has a chapbook, The Reservist, and Gigs is forthcoming from Sol Books in 2011.

 

 

 

11:30 - 11:50 am.  Korama Williams.

Korama Williams fell in love with poetry when she heard Oprah recite "Phenomenal Woman" by Maya Angelou at the Essence Awards. Her form of spoken word is what she loves best. Korama believes poetry gives you a view of a person’s soul and live experience.

Chris Jarmick curates and hosts two monthly readings.  He is President of the Washington Chapter of PEN. He has published numerous poems, articles, reviews, interviews and essays.

Jean Musser born in Akron, OH, Smith Grad, critic for Seattle Times, NEH Fellowship, and Editor of Raven Chronicle, winning “Best Literary Magazine”.

 

 

 

 

 

1:30 - 1:50 pm.  Thomas Hubbard

Thomas Hubbard enjoys the beauty of Puget Sound, or hides out in his Ozarks cabin. His poetry and fiction most recently appear in Yellow Medicine Review, Spring 2010, and in the Foothills Publishing anthology.

 

 

 

2:00 - 2:20 pm.  Murray Gordon.

Murray Gordon was born in Scranton, PA, anthracite coal, smoldering slag heaps, to Philly, saw swastikas flying from rowhouses pre-Pearl Harbor, to the Beat Generation, poetry, jazz, blues to Seattle to write - right here, right now

 

 

 

 

2:30 - 2:50 pm.  Tammy Robacker.

Tammy Robacker studied Creative Writing and Poetry at The Evergreen State College in Olympia and graduated with a B.A. degree. Secretary of PSPC and Tacoma’s Poet Laureate.

3:30 - 3:50 pm.  David Fewster.

David Fewster was a 2003-2004 recipient of an AIP grant from the Tacoma Arts Commission for his book Diary of a Homeless Alcoholic Suicidal Maniac & Other Picture Postcards.

 

 

 

 

4:00 - 4:20 pm.  Chris Dahl.

Olympia Poetry Network board member Chris Dahl has collected publication credits from many magazines and her chapbook, Mrs. Dahl in the Season of Cub Scouts, won a Women in Words competion.  She has an M.A. in English from the University of Washington.

 

 

 

4:30 - 4:50 pm.  Peter Bacho. 

Peter Bacho is the author of six books. His books have received several awards, including the 1992 American Book Award. He is a writing professor at Evergreen State College.

 

 

 

 

5:00 - 5:20 pm.  Bill Kupinse.

Bill Kupinse is associate professor of English at UPS and president of Exquisite Disarray Publishing, which published the Tacoma Anthology.

 

 

 

 

 

5:30 - 5:50 pm.  Shannon O'Donnell.

Shannon O'Donnell gathers stories and crafts her written work in the midst of her life as a chaplain at the King County Jail.
