Community Empowerment and Permaculture Education

This presentation will explore the work of two prominent locally-focused community education organizations--Tryon Life Community Farm and the City Repair Project--and take a close look at the 'invisible structures' that these organizations are creating as an alternative. Additionally, the presentation will discuss Gaia University, which has become a model of applied permaculture design.

Matt Bibeau has a Masters in Leadership in Ecology, Culture & Learning from PSU. He currently lives at TLC Farm where he co-coordinates the farm’s education program, leads trainings in Garden-based Education and is a former teacher and new Development Director of Mother Earth School.

Cost: $10 - $7 sliding scale. No one turned away due to lack of funds. Presented by Sustainable Tacoma Pierce. As an organization they aim to unite communities, provide frameworks for permaculture application and teach stewardship in all relations.
