Lori Tsugawa Whaley, author of The Courage of a Samurai: Seven Sword-Sharp Principles for Success, is a third generation Japanese American, a baby boomer, keynote speaker, and HNLP Life Coach. She has lived her whole life in Washington. Starting out as a farmer's daughter, she endured bullying for the color of her skin, and was accused of her 'kind' starting WWII. She turned pain into gain, using it to immerse herself in learning more about her ancestry to get past her differences and, later in life, continued her journey by tracing her ancestry in Japan to find out she is a descendant of the samurai. She is a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor, and used her book as a tool to get past it - she knew if she could finish her book she could beat TBI. And she did.
Rich in history and well researched, she loops everything back to what we can do now, using the samurai's Bushido code, the principles they live by. Each principle of the code represents a chapter in the book with examples of those that exemplify it. Then, she brings the principle to the present to show how we can live ethically, and lead strongly, today, personally and professionally.
